What are cookies?
Cookies are small files or identifiers that a website may store in a visitor’s browser or device. They can remember preferences, enable technical functions and, in some cases, measure how a website is used. Similar technologies may perform comparable functions.
Cookies and similar technologies are governed, among other rules, by Article 22(2) of Spain’s Law 34/2002 (LSSI) and, where personal data is processed, by the GDPR and Spain’s LOPDGDD.

Types of cookies and their purposes
- Essential or technical cookies: enable the website’s basic operation, security, sessions and certain options requested by the user. Where they qualify for a legal exemption, consent is not required.
- Preference cookies: remember settings such as language. Whether consent is required depends on their specific purpose and configuration.
- Analytics cookies: help compile usage statistics and improve the website. As a general rule, prior consent is required unless a specific legal exemption applies.
- Social or third-party cookies: may support content and features offered by social platforms or other providers. Where non-essential, they must only be activated after valid consent.
Cookies can also be classified as first-party or third-party, and as session or persistent cookies depending on their lifespan.
Cookies named in the current published policy
The cookie policy previously published on this website lists the identifiers below. Their actual presence, provider, precise purpose and lifespan must be confirmed through a technical audit of the active site and services. It would be misleading to assign exact expiry periods or providers without such verification.
| Published identifier | Typical use (indicative; verification needed) |
|---|---|
| PHPSESSID | PHP session identifier. |
| wordpress_test_cookie | WordPress cookie functionality test. |
| wp-wpml_current_language | WPML language preference. |
| wp-wpml_current_admin_language_* | WPML admin-language preference. |
| hasConsent / hasConsents | Consent preference storage. |
| wp-settings-* | WordPress user preferences. |
| tk_tc | Often associated with Jetpack functions; exact purpose must be checked. |
| jetpackState[stats_remote_error_795261bc] | Listed in the earlier policy; check whether this is actually a cookie or another form of storage. |
Cookie audit needed: before a final inventory can be published, each cookie actually used must be checked for its name, provider, purpose, lifespan and first- or third-party status. Any cookies placed through Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or other services loaded by the website must also be assessed.
Third-party cookies and services
The currently published privacy policy identifies Google Analytics as an analytics service. The website may also embed third-party content or features. The cookies actually used depend on the services installed and their current configuration.
For details of Google’s processing, please see Google’s Privacy Policy. This external policy does not replace the website-specific cookie inventory that must be provided here.
Consent and preferences
Non-essential cookies must remain disabled until you have consented to them. Users must be able to accept, reject and configure non-essential cookies clearly. Simply continuing to browse does not constitute consent.
You can review or change your preferences at any time via the site’s cookie preference centre:
This link opens the website’s preference page (currently in Spanish). Actual consent controls depend on the cookie management system installed in WordPress. This policy does not itself set or block cookies.
Delete or block cookies in your browser
You can also remove or block cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may affect how some services work.
Changes and contact
This policy may be updated if the website’s services, technologies or cookies change. If you have any questions, email info@veterinariatobys.es. For general information on personal data processing, please read our Privacy Policy.
